“What to wear to a winter wedding”
Combine colours as nature intended. Think of the colours of leaves in autumn. Nothing jars.
Don’t wear black to a wedding. Mixing patterns together succeeds when the same colours are used.
A fitted jacket and long skirt flatter most figures and give a long lean silhouette.
Wearing a printed skirt and a darker jacket is good if you are bigger up top (try the reverse if you are bigger down below).
A combination of fabrics gives an opulent look.
If it’s really cold, consider wearing thermals underneath your outfit instead of a heavy coat that will hide all the effort you’ve made.
Remember gloves keep you warm and add an element of elegance – as long as they are not black and woolly.
Don’t wear a summer hat with a winter outfit. A sharp hat is best shown off with simple tailoring.
If tights are involved in an outfit and you’re in a potentially splintery church, carry a spare pair.
